Easy Fig Galette

How It's done:


680g figs, washed and quartered
1 sheet of shortcrust pastry (you can also use puff pastry)
1/4 cup orange marmalade (or strawberry jam)
2 tbsp sugar


Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius. Roll out pastry crust and place in a pie baking dish or on a lined baking tray. Cover the pastry with marmalade or jam and arrange the figs on top, leaving the edges free to fold. Sprinkle sugar over the figs and fold the edges of the crust over the edge of the outer figs. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the crust is lightly browned and the fruit is bubbling. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 20 minutes before serving.
