Basic Raspberry Sauce

How It's done:


2 1/2 cups fresh raspberries
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup water
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons cold water
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Pinch of salt


On the stovetop add raspberries, sugar, water, and lemon juice to a pan. Cook slowly(keep stirring) until the mix comes to a boil. In a small bowl mix the cold water and cornstarch before adding to the (still boiling) raspberry sauce. Remove the pan from the stove and stir through the vanilla and salt. Allow to cool slightly before adding to waffles, pancakes, or breakfast muesli.
